I've been here either fine in or take out. I have to note that they are incredibly efficient. They have a older women 'mom' type in the back that cooks without any delays. Food order/delivery is the best. Food tastes very reasonable for the speed in which it cooks and the price. If you want something fast and don't want a drive thru this is the place for you. We should all support our local businesses.

The beef was super tough and "unfriendly" and so was the waitress. Listed as Thai but the menu is more Chinese. Fried rice looks and tastes more like boiled rice, with an added spice of some sort that makes it pink. I'm a girl but I still don't want my rice pink, unless it's on Valentine's Day.

If you want good Thai food on a budget, this cafe has lunch specials that will get your underpants hopping. If you're looking for seriously good Thai food, then hit up East Hollywood. But if you are driving on this block, then you're going to find few better choices than this. Good chunks of meat, curry on the thick side. Menu features all the usual suspects. #budget

A lot of bang for your buck, at least, when you are going in for the Lunch special, which ends at 3:30 pm everyday. The food looked pretty good and tasted pretty good, but I'm sitting here about an hour and a half later feeling a bit queasy :/ The server was very nice and prompt as well. I ordered the #1 Lunch Special for $6.99 plus tax. Overall, I probably will never go here again, but this place is good if you're short on time and cash. One more thing...anytime you go to a restaurant, at least a small time place, take note that they aren't making much profit off of your purchase when they are giving you a really great deal, and please do them a favor when you pay: USE CASH. This helps the business save money from the cc companies and in turn will help future customers save money. Win win for everyone :-)

Cheap and fast. Perfect for take out when I'm feeling too lazy to cook. There's nothing particularly special they do that stands out. BUT they're cheap and fast!

They get two stars for the fast delivery, however, one star for the cold and not very tasty food. I suggest you order only from they're lunch/dinner menu, everything else is a reach. I ordered the spicy basil chicken which completely lacked flavor. It was onion, green bell pepper, basil, and chicken slices in a brown, oily broth. It was basically something I could've made at home. I also don't like having to doctor up my food with home spices. My egg roll was cold, my salad warm, and the fried rice wasn't really fried. Overall, it could of been better, but it wasn't ridiculously horrible either.

This place is so yummy! I always get delivery off of Eat24! Usually Eat24 places take forever to deliver, but this place is always reliable and fast. Not only is the food good, but they have great deals! Depending on how much you spend, you can get free Boba drinks through Eat24. The food is delicious, the service is fast, and the deals are great!

My goto place for cheap and good hoemade Thai food. Don't let the prices fool you, the food is really good here. You won't find anything too extraordinary here but if you live close by it's worth going to just for the prices and consistent quality. Because it's so close, this is the Thai place I usually go and I love both the lunch/dinner specials here. The Dinner specials start at $8.50, with a good selection of choices of chicken, beef, pork, or tofu dishes served with egg roll, salad and rice. It's a lot though. They also have a $10.50 bbq special deal. I think the meals are cooked by the grandmother, with the father and wife team running the front. Their kids also help out, which is really cute seeing them run to the back with the orders. They also have a full menu to order from as well. They have a decent selection of curry, and the ones I've tried Panang and yellow curry, I'd definitely order again. I've also tried the Hawaiian Seafood Curry special, enjoyed it but didn't think it was all that great with the pineapple sweetness not meshing well with the mussels and imitation crab. But the Tom Yum soup is excellent with just the right amount spiciness and flavor, and the pad thai is good too. Probably the most exotic dish I've tried is the Volcano Shrimp, which is fried shrimp (breaded), chili sauce, and broccoli. It was good, although nothing spectacular. Service is good and what you'd expect from a family run, neighborhood Thai restaurant. Plenty of parking.

Coming to Thai Klang Dong was a completely random choice by me and a couple of friends while driving down Sepulveda. We had a Thai craving and stopped at the first place we saw, which just happened to be here. On a Sunday afternoon, we were the only ones here. The staff is friendly and gives you plenty of time to order. To start you off, they give you chicken rice soup on the house. This is when I realized this was also a Chinese and Thai mix restaurant, something I've never seen before. Nonetheless, the soup was surprisingly delicious. I ordered the Twice Cooked Pork, which came as a cheap lunch special. The pork is first boiled and then grilled with various veggies, served with rice and salad. To sum it up, you get what you paid for. It's not the greatest quality, but it does the job. Mediocre at best. All the ingredients taste fresh, so no complaints about that. Just wish the meat had a bit more flavor in it.

I ordered delivery from here last night via grub hub. It estimated an hour-90 minuets delivery time and they showed up within 30 which is awesome! I ordered wonton soup which was delicious. $7 for a quart of soup. We also got the orange chicken which was good because it wasn't overly fried like most places. It also came with a side of steamed broccoli which was nice! I like that this place has both Thai and Chinese as well as a large menu to choose from. Ive had a lot of bad Chinese delivery in the last few months so this place was a nice surprise.

I tried this place because it's close and has free delivery. I tried the walnut shrimp, chicken pad Thai and the combination fried rice. The fried rice had a total of two shrimp but was edible. The walnut shrimp was (never used these words before) slop. Had obviously been sitting around for some time. So I figure I'll eat the pad Thai, no one can screw up pad Thai to the point of not being edible. Wrong. Given the food was here in less than 15 minutes nothing was made fresh. (the taste confirmed this) If you want good honey walnut shrimp go to Hop Li on Pico. So bummed. I was so excited of the idea of having a place close by that delivers. :(

Great Thai food, close to home. Papaya salad is tasty as an appetizer.

Just had the Chinese chicken salad. Was not good. Big slices of ginger with watery lettuce. The salad dressing has unbalanced and little flavor. Tiny pieces of chicken and stale wonton crisps. The thai bbq chicken was decent but extremely dry. Chicken jerky.

My review is based on take out only and one dish. I visited a store next door and I decided to stop in and see if they had yellow curry on the menu. I walked in around 2:30 p.m. only one of the tables had guests and the staff was having their lunch. Ordering and getting my food took less than 15 minutes; perfect for someone like me who went in there during my lunch break. The yellow curry shrimp was very very good, probably one of the best I've had in recent years. Great flavors from coconut milk and lemon grass and the heat was just perfect. I recommend you give this a try. I'm finishing up this review of my recent visit and can't wait to go back and order the dish again.

I don't know what's with the bad reviews on here. I always get the pad Thai and larb chicken here, and it's always on point. The little lady with the short hair always gives excellent service as well. Yum yum Thai food while our laundry is spinning next door!! Weeeeeeee~

Hey, fellow Yelpers! What's the appropriate way for a restaurant to respond when they've served you a spring roll with a 12-inch hair embedded entirely inside it, so you can bite into the spring roll and discover a mouth full of a stranger's hair? If you said, "apologize profusely and quietly tell you your lunch is on the house and hope you come back," you're Thai Klang Wrong! According to Thai Klang Dong, the appropriate protocol is to take back the hairy spring roll you spit out and bring you TWO NEW spring rolls that are presumed to be hair-free, but who really knows, because this place is a filthy, festering B-rated disaster that needs to be shut down. Hairy spring rolls not enough for you? How about warming up on a winter day with some fucking cold chicken and rice soup? The lunch special includes this lukewarm, likely improperly microwaved delight! This place has decent reviews because their curry is fairly tasty. Personally I'd rather get curry somewhere else and spare myself the food poisoning I expect to have contracted from this hellish dump. Here's a helpful indication of the quality and conditions of this shitfest: the staff don't even eat their own food. They shamelessly brought in food from McDonald's to eat while I was there. Fuck you, Thai Klang Dong.

I don't know what is up with all the hate but it's not that bad. Generally speaking I liked their food. It is lacking in some flavor but not in a bad way. Everything tastes fresh but seems a little lighthanded (pad thai needs a bit more peanut, curry needs to be a bit thicker) but I kind of liked it. It's not like other truly bad Thai places (in Westwood) where it's not fresh, thick and feels like a chore to eat and generally makes me feel bad. One thing I must give them an A+ for is the coconut they use. I think they must use a different brand of coconut milk than those other Thai places as it's fresher tasting, and lighter. So in sum--bit lighthanded when it comes to spices. They add a few more and they should be great! Also don't change whatever coconut you're using now (i.e. maybe 3 weeks ago when I came here) that stuff is gold. I didn't try the Chinese food so I have no idea about that. The staff is really nice, and this place is clean. I really liked this place and when I get Thai again in the area I'll eat here!

Not wanting to go to Panda Express I came here for some Chinese food. I ordered the beef and chicken teriyaki plate. It came with white rice, a salad, and obviously beef and chicken. The beef and chicken to me felt hard, hard as in I needed to chew it more than I normally would. Now I don't know if it was old or what the deal was but other than that the teriyaki sauce was great. Having lots of sauce leftover I threw the rice on it and mmmmmmm delicious. I came around 8pm so it was empty and as for parking they have some spaces that are only for their customers use. Would I come here again? Yes but if the chicken and beef require excessive chewing again it will be the last.

I visited Thai Klang Dong first off because the name was awesome and I was in the mood for some Thai food. Lets just say I was delighted by the overall experience offered including their family service that was nice. There is usually a waitress lady with black hair who works there everytime I have come and she is very welcoming and pleasant. I think it is because I have been here over five times now and she recognizes me. The place is in a need of maybe a redesign. There are dolphins and ocean scenery on the lights above you, but don't expect some masterpiece - they are moreover as just "covers" for the lights. The environment is very Thai based and is not upscale - although not a bad thing since this place is relaxing for a fast meal or just finding that you are hungry and need a place to stop close by. No way close is this place fancy, it is the type of food environment one might feel at like Yoshinoya or Panda Expess....but like I said - the food is amazing!! Who cares about everything else right? I usually get the lunch special with the Yellow Curry. Its is delicious and I am hooked! BUT PLEASE REMEMBER TO ONLY GO IF YOU HAVE A LIKING FOR THAI FOOD - otherwise the plates might be too abstract for you. I am getting it 4 stars because for the price you get, it is satisfying - but they do have a GRADE B, last time I checked.

Such a great place to eat. My dad and I ended up going here mistaking it as a fast good Thai restaurant, due to the set up they have coming in the door. We were not disappointed by this though. We didn't know what to order but the staff was very helpful and patient in recommending dishes they liked and explaining the different duchies on the menu. The one thing we always get that was recommended by the staff is the sizzling rice soup. Since that day we have taken many people with us and they have gone back with others because they love the food and service that much. It's a small place and it may not look like much, but it is a great place to go and eat. The staff is always friendly and smiling.

Omgosh... so disgusting. I don't even have the words. Let's just say my food kept coming back up for the rest of the day. My body was literally rejecting it. I ate 1/4 of my entree, ONLY bcuz I was friggin starving. I had the prik prig king with tofu, which is sautéed green beans & tofu in a red curry sauce. I purposely didn't get meat bcuz the place looked so ghetto & dirty.. I think they had a B rating too. Anyways mayonnaise, the green beans were unlike anything I've had before.. They tasted like they got gang raped by the GMO gang & then stuffed into a freezer for a decade.. It literally tasted like the corpse of rotten green beans.. but they didn't look rotten bcuz GMO makes them all nice and plasticky. Same with the brown rice... Tasted super old & reheated. The sauce was yucky, but not as bad as how the rice & green beans tasted. They really need to get it together before they catch a lawsuit

This place for Meat-Eaters and vegetarians/vegans alike. Every dish, pretty much, can be turned vegetarian. I really like the Chow-fun, and the Tom-Yum soup. My boyfriend loves the Pad-thai and the Mango Sticky Rice. Today Is the first day I have gone into the restaurant. Very relaxing calm environment, with great lunch specials. I took a book to read and relaxed in the peaceful setting authentic thai setting. Thai Klang Dong uses high quality of the vegetables and a huge variety. The price is fantastic, and cannot be beaten. And delivery is very fast with no delivery charge. We will continue to order delivery at least once a week, it is so good and healthy.

I just moved a block from this place and I was hoping for better. I got their signature dish, the Pad Thai, and it was kinda watery and flavorless :( I even added hot sauce and it didn't really help. Service was so-so. It's kinda good that it's not that great here cuz I would eat here a lot. Haven't been back, and probably won't be. Overall it was meh.... not horrible, but far from great.

I've been took, hoodwinked, bamboozled, led astray and run amok by yelpers once again. Either these 4 star yelp reviewers are delusional and/or I just came the one day Thai Klang Dong served the shittiest food, ever. I'm not here to bash anyone but this place was a major disappointed and I relied on yelp reviews. Driving through Culver City via Sepulveda I thought I would search "Thai food" on my BB yelp app. Thanks to GPS Thai Klang Dong was the 1st search result and I was one block away. I'm thinking 3.5 stars are cool so it shouldn't be a problem. I can't go wrong with the standard Thai BBQ Chicken lunch special for $5.50. Wrong! Without going into details the chicken was just bad...bad texture, taste and smell. My egg roll tasted like the cheapest frozen egg roll possible that was NOT thawed out. The Thai bbq sweet sauce was watery with NO flavor whatsoever. The best part of my miserable meal was my bottled water. If I wake up in the middle of the night with bubble guts I have a good idea why. Horrible experience and I will not be back.

We tried to order delivery from our favorite place (Moo Moo Thai Cafe) but it turns out we live just a little too far for delivery. We ended up ordering from Thai Klang Dong which I have seen every time I rented a car from Enterprise across the street and figured that since they have been in business for as long as I have lived in Culver City, I might as well try them. Well, to say that we were very disappointed would be an understatement. The two dinners we ordered had very little flavor, was greasy and seemed to be cooked by someone who was not even of Asian decent let alone Thai. There are far better places than this one!

  • Erin P.

I have to say I was THOROUGHLY impressed with this place. I've tried a few different restaurants through eat24 when I'm lazy and want food delivered. However, each and every restaurant I've ordered from, up until this one, have made me want to spew up a waterfall. Their thai iced tea...well...yum, and as for the yellow curry I ordered...Delish! For the price, very generous portions. This local thai restuarant has my business for sure!

I got nothing but stars for this place. This is my true & tried local favorite place to have a quick bite when I'm feening for asian food. (I have been coming here since 2004 when I moved to LA ,and I don't imagine I'll ever stop as long as I live around this area) I'd be surprised if they don't recognize me by now. This place is a perfect local spot to go to because it's clean has a local mom/pop feel clean not too small - not too big good service good food Everything I've tried here I have liked, but ... The only thing I don't like about this place is their corn syrup peanut sauce - what the deuce?! I have no idea what that is all about but it straight up tastes like gooey liquid sugar or candy sprinkled with some crushed peanuts on top. I just don't get it. A heads up - there is a parking lot, but there are only a few spaces allotted for the restaurant. On the bright side, in all the years, I've come here I never had trouble parking (hope I didn't jinx myself by writing that). Also, I do take out from here all the time - I don't call ahead - I just walk in and order a grip of food - and it comes out like jump & jack flash. So efficient. Thai Klang Dong is A-okay in my yelp book.

First mistake: I did not check yelp before ordering. I picked up the food myself, which according to the other reviews I saw on here was the only thing I did right with this place. Note about the parking: All of the parking spots in front of the location are for compact cars. Seriously, I know I've only lived in LA for 4 months, but I am sick and tired of people parking their SUVs in compact spaces. I ordered Pad Thai, Yellow curry, and two Thai Iced Teas. The Pad Thai looked like what Pad Thai should look like - the taste was less than lack luster. In fact, it was the worst I had ever tasted. The yellow curry lacked flavor and was runny instead of creamy (if I had read the other reviews I would have known this). The iced teas were made with half and half instead of condensed milk, to make up for that they shoved so much sugar in it that I could not drink it. Will not ever order from here again. Ever.

Came by here because we were in the area and had a hankering for chinese. Found this place on yelp. We took advantage of the lunch specials. Mama got the pad thai and got the pork with garlic sauce. It came with a chicken/rice soup and eggroll. The soup was good. Not too potent with flavor, just subtle enough to leave you wanting more from such a small serving. The eggroll was veggie. Not bad. Our food came with a house italian dressing salad. Kind of peculiar to have this type of salad at a thai/chinese place. Mama's serving of pad thai was pretty good. My serving of the pork left a lot to my imagination as well as appetite. I knew when she placed it in front of me that I would be hungry, and sooner than an hour after eating. Oh well. What did I expect for under $6 a plate? The dish wasn't bad, after I doused it with a couple tablespoons of the sambal. The place was clean. The menu looks pretty substantial. Good prices. I might come back and try something that will really fill me up.

Not my go-to place for Thai, but I give this place a high rating because I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE their garlic and black pepper chicken. There's no pepper in it, but it's the best garlic chicken! It includes cabbage and plenty of broccoli (usually other places give a small amount of cabbage with the chicken.) Interesting how it's also a Chinese place, I had the General Tao chicken and it's delicious and the portion is generous! I have ordered in and delivered. About 80% of the time delivery is alright, within 45 minutes or so. Other times the delivery was terrible and food was cold upon arrival. Dining in, the service was good, the waitress was sweet and attentive. It's a hit or a miss, but that garlic (and black pepper) chicken keeps me rolling the dice on this place.

I wasn't very impressed. i went in with a friend for lunch. he ordered like 3 different dishes and i ordered an app. neither of us liked it to much. chicken was dry.. I might go back to give it another shot because of the $4.99 lunch special but if it wasnt for that I probably woulnt go here again.

I work nearly across the street from this place. My only other walking food choice is the McDonald's. Given the choice, I would probably take the McDonald's from here on out. I love both Thai and Chinese food and have been to countless restaurants all over California. I have yet to go to one as terrible as this one. This is now the second time I've been there, I like to give things a few tries to be fair. I ordered the Pad Thai last time, bland, over cooked rice, cheap egg roll and warm salad. This time I got the Kung Pow Chicken, thinking maybe their Chinese was better. Nope. The chicken tastes like it was boiled. Soggy, flavorless. The peanuts are burnt, not overcooked straight up burnt. The rice is again overcooked, the salad again more than warm, almost hot. Which leads me to believe they keep it on a stovetop or something. The veggies... I love me some vegetables, but this is stupid. 3 or 4 thin slices of carrot, and the rest is 90% 1/2 inch cubed pieces of onion and a few water chestnuts thrown in. The "kung Pow" sauce is a joke. It's neither spicy or having any taste at all. It's almost like the they just poured the broth on it from when they boiled the chicken. I will never go here again, I would recommended anyone to do the same. I can't stand McDonald's, I'll probably drive a few miles down the road to avoid this place.

Alright, I have been frequenting this place more than any other restaurant since i moved to Culver City. This is place offers some really good food for some dead cheap prices(And thats a real deal :) ). Staff is friendly and service is quick. I have introduced this place to my office colleagues who now want to go eat at this place every Friday afternoon for lunch. I usually get the Panang Curry/Fried Rice/Yellow Curry. All of them are pretty good. I don't really expect much from this place, just a regular place you would go to eat when you are hungry.

I am extremely upset with the service. I read such great reviews on their online order site, "The delivery is faster than most sit down restaurants.." I don't know who wrote that but they must live or work a block away. After an HOUR of waiting, I called to track my delivery or to see if they ever got my order. The lady says, "Address??" I told her the 4digits and before getting the chance to say the street name, she cuts me off and says, "It's on the way." and hangs up. 25min later, still hasn't arrived.. I called back and said, "Hi, I called 25min ago, I was wondering how close the driver was to my apt?? It has been an hour and half since I ordered." She says, "Oh, sorry. I call driver now." and She hangs up on me?? wth? An hour and 45min after I placed my order, it finally arrives!! The (I would say gentleman, but he wasn't) guy, calls and says, "Open the door. I'm out front with your food." I walk to the front and open the gate and ask if he realizes it took over an hour and half to deliver? He looks at me stund. I asked if his manager called? He didn;t answer. So I told him, "I don't feel it is right for a company to have me pay after waiting double the quoted delivery time. Most companies would comp the meal for the inconvenience." He says, "I need you to sign the slip." So Maybe, just maybe he doesn't speak English?? reguardless, if you are running a company and you are making deliveries, then 1) Your driver should speak English and not just "I have your food" and "I need you to sign the slip" but they need to be able to make an emotional connection when something is wrong and be able to reply in 2hr wait situation. 2) He needs to learn the city or get a GPS, if they have one, then learn how to use it. They were made to help you, not hender you. 3)Delivery in the time allotted. 45min-hour seemed long, but if had other deliveries.. I got it, I can wait 45min, but an HOUR and 45MIN is not except-able. 4) Smile, be polite, Apologize for being late and thank them. (even if they didn't leave a tip) bc you are thanking them for the business to the company. The lack of tip is bc your service was less than par. For the other employees, if they do speak English then Learn the Customer Service Basics..1) Listen, do not interrupt the person who is giving you an answer to the question YOU just asked... Them the customer answer YOUR question, 2) POLITELY APOLOGIZE for the Inconvenience, even if you feel the customer maybe wrong. 3)let the person know you that you will find out what has happened and that you will get back to them. Don't just hang up. Wtf? Seriously? I am sorry I am ranting, but LA customer service skills in the pooptank and this company is slow.. very slow, no customer service skills, and shows no remorse for the lack of diligence. I ordered my meal at 3:56pm and I got it at 5:40pm. The food was COLD!! I ordered the Spicy Basil Seafood Entree and everyone knows, Seafood never re-heats well. The shrimp, mussels, fish, and crab shrink and dry out.. ugh. Mind you, If it were during Rush hour on the weekend and i ordered from Santa Monica, I could understand waiting 2hours, but this isn't even rush hour and the restaurant is 2miles away. i could have walked and picked it up faster. I will NEVER order from this restaurant again.

Ugh. After seeing good reviews about their General Tso chicken, I decided to give Thai Klang Dong a chance during a lunch break. The dish only came with white rice, but I paid an extra dollar to get fried rice instead. The good only good thing was that the order was ready in less than 10 minutes. I opened up the bag and saw that a bunch of the sauce was on the bottom of the bag, and the stuff had the viscosity of tree sap. After wiping off the bottom of the carton so I could eat, I was disappointed when I looked at the chicken. Have you ever scene Kitchen Nightmares or Hell's Kitchen when Chef Ramsey chews someone out for crappy looks of food? He would have a field day with these guys. There was a huge variety in the size of the chicken, ranging from dime sized to huge silver dollar/half dollar coins, and all of them were covered in that horribly thick tar pit like sauce. The texture was extremely tough, due to whatever pitiful breading that they used on it, so my jaws got a workout. Some of the smaller pieces turned out to be only breading. There was very little flavor, and it wasn't good. Fried rice normally includes rice that at least been cooked with some pieces of egg mixed in, and at best will have some carrot and peas too. This fried rice was only rice that looked like it had been tossed around in a wok; no egg, no carrot, no peas. I took two bites of it, and threw it in the trash. I have no need to go back and give them a second chance. A place that would serve that garbage to me is not deserving of my business.

I ordered delivery from here and was not too pleased. It took an hour for my order on a sunday night at 8 o'clock. The orange chicken was over fried and lacked taste. There was not much chicken in my kun pao chicken. The chow main was ok. and the sticky rice was dried out. Then the delivery guy didn't even bother getting out of his car. He called form his phone outside when out call box works. The menu is in the menu drawer with DO NOT ORDER written on it now.

I can't say i will order from here again. For the service: I figure the guy didn't buzz himself in so he could watch his car up front - it's all meters along the block. As for the food, the pad see yew was burnt and tasted of some other weird funk. They messed up the order with chicken instead of beef. The yellow curry was very spicy and not milky or creamy like other thai places make them. The tofu appetizer was over-fried. It took me a long time trying to carefully chew so i wouldn't cause a million gashes in my mouth with it's hardened edges. The fried rice is not worth it, nor the salad but the eggroll was actually kinda good. Good thing i'm not a picky eater. I saved the the tofu as leftovers and it softened after sitting and being reheated! Lol! It was edible! In the end, this is the worst thai food experience that I have had. It's sad that this place should be truly authentic from what I read, but what good is it if they keep screwing it up?

Always good Thai food here. Affordable and very friendly staff- I believe it's family owned and operated.

My boyfriend and I were craving for Asian food one night. We couldn't decide between Thai or Chinese food. Well hey, whatdya know.... here's a restaurant that serves both Thai and Chinese food! Now I'm not sure how good an idea it is to combine different cuisines into one restaurant, but at least they're not having an identity crisis like another restaurant I know (Pars, which has Persian food and Italian food... but that's for another review). In any case, both the Thai and Chinese food were great! I can't say that their food was extraordinary, but how extraordinary can you get with Thai and Chinese food? I started out with the Tom Kha Vegetable soup, which I usually order almost anytime I eat Thai. Their soup came in a large bowl and it was perfectly sweet and sour to the taste. Lucky for me, my boyfriend was there to share it with me, otherwise I might've been too full to continue onto the entree course! My boyfriend ordered the Combination Appetizer, which had eggrolls, tempura battered veggies and shrimp, and chicken wontons. I ordered the Orange Tofu, which I loved. I loved it for the fact that I don't see too many restaurants that serve a vegetarian version of an entree that's normally meaty. The only other place I've ever had Orange Tofu is Pick-Up Stix. =T My boyfriend got the traditional order of Pad Thai, which he enjoyed. There's one big screen tv in the restaurant, which was on game shows the whole time we were there. The waiter was super nice... he did err on my soup order but actually realized it right before he set it down on the table and took it back to the kitchen to fix it without me needing to say a word! If you're ever debating between Thai or Chinese food, I would suggest going to Klang Dong to satisfy your wishy washy urges.

Great friendly service. The atmosphere is plain but the good prices make up for it. good: the yellow and red curry were excellent. the coconut ice cream was great, with real pieces of coconut in it! not so good: the papaya salad did not taste super fresh. the drunken noodles were more like noodles with vegetables. Overall a good thai place with cheap authentic food! 5/1/11 update: they no longer take restaurant.com certificates, although it is still avail for purchase.

This place is not a solid 3, but rather more like a 2.5-star venue--including a to-go like ambiance despite waiter service. It is cheap all day ($6.99 for most dishes including a side of rice), but the quality is a bit lacking. We got the panang with chicken and were served up something that had a decent flavor but was overly mild (and we ordered it regular) and kind of chunky (rather than creamy and smooth). Compared to Thai Dishes in Santa Monica, it was a near fail for my all-time favorite Thai dish (elsewhere) had I not been starving. 1.5-2-stars. We also got the garlic eggplant. This dish was 2.5-3-stars, boasting a mild flavor (though ironically not so garlicky) with a delicately sweet sauce on top of big chunks of eggplant and tofu; my main suggestion would be to make the sauce thicker so it sticks better to the dish. We also got the pad see-iw with shrimp, which was about 2.5-3-stars as well. It wasn't cooked to perfection (noodles were a little hard), but it had a good flavor. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by the food given it's dinky strip mall location. But, I do lean more towards an 2.5 overall, so if you don't live in the area and/or don't mind spending a few bucks more at Thai Dishes in SaMo, skip it.

Pretty good Pho - not the best I've had but it's hard to find decent Vietnamese/Thai food in this area. Seems like it would be worth another try for Thai items.

Do you hear the gong sounding? Another subpar Thai/Chinese restaurant is coming to serve you some tasteless gunk! I have given them a few chances. Have tried several items from the Thai menu (Pad See Iw, Pad Thai) and Chinese (fried rice, some sort of chicken entree, egg roll) side. Nothing tastes good. Noodles are dried out and clumpy. Everything has a slightly oily flavor, very bland, not very fresh. Hunks of tomato in the fried rice? So unappetizing. Delivery portions are inconsistently small. Three-star Thai available down the street... move on...

I know this place isn't 100% authentic, and is probably slightly americanized, but it's REALLY good. My favorite is the Prik King with Tofu. I order from this place at least once a week. Very fast service. No refills on sodas. Stick with water (or tea if you're in to it).

I don't understand all the bad reviews. For the class that this restaurant is in, strip-mall Thai, it's fantastic! All the chicken is white meat! The service is friendly and fast! The food is tasty and delicious! Thai Klang Dong has one of the best red curries I've had. The place is family run, and feels comfortable to hang out in. Look, this is a modest restaurant, but the food, variety and service are wonderful. The fried cheese wontons are decadent and delightful!

The worst food i ever had in my life!!! The food looked horrible and tasted even worst. I had only few bites and now my stomach hurts and have horrible heartburn. I had to put one star because it wouldn't let me post a no star review which is what it deserved.

I love this place. They are always super nice & the food is great & the prices are even greater! I always get chicken or tofu pat thai...or the yellow curry with brown rice. So yummy

This is a nice, family run establishment. I mostly get my food to go, but it has a nice atmosphere, tables by the windows, etc. The food is really good. I've had lots of pad thai before and they do it well here. Another place further north on Sepulveda (don't know the name), gave me stomach problems for three days afterwards, so if you're in the area and are looking for some Thai food, this is the place to go to.

I tried this place yesterday after an accidental Google discovery of eat24hours.com . It was amazing food, quick and fast delivery. I must recommend them, highly. I will say that immediately after I ordered I looked them up on yelp (yeah I probably should've done that before ordering but hey, I was hungry)- and the reviews that are one and two stars saying it is the worst food, I don't know where they are getting that from because it was delightful. However, constructive criticism: make the curry SPICY when the customer checks the "spicy" box, because it was good curry but not nearly as hot as it should have been.

I really should visit this place more often. I'm just not much of a take out person I guess. They're within walking distance of me so I don't have to worry about the parking that can be kind of tight unless you go late when the other stores are closed. The one dish i ordered I wasn't too keen on, it was some shrimp dish with lobster sauce. I think my g/f ordered some general tsaos which was mighty yummy. Just a few days ago I got their spring rolls. I would definitely recommend them. All in all this is a good place, it's small, but never crowded. I've never sat there for dinner, always getting take out though. The take service is quick, I usually call in the order and it's ready by the time I've walked there.

I've only tried their yellow curry... They have good prices, it tastes like the curry I had when I was up north, so I thought it was just average but..this is the only place around my area so far where their yellow curry hasnt burned my face off D: !! The other places have literally made my eyes cry/water when I eat it because its so spicy! I love this place and come here a lot, but feel like a stalker cuz they got a really sexy boy waiter *.* If I was rating on how hot that boy was then this review would be 5/5 XD

This is my spot for delivery or take-out... they have good priced lunch specials and you get a lot of food for your money. Is it super authentic? Not really, but for $5.95 you can get a red curry with rice, egg roll, salad, and soup. This is a good lunch place or in a hurry dinner place... it's not the prettiest atmosphere, but if you're already expecting that, then it won't be such a shock. I would stick to the curry and noodle dishes. The Tom Ka Gai is also tasty.... probably stay away from seafood since this place isn't busy enough for the freshest stuff.

i would give this place a BIG fat ZERO star...spent $60.00 and I got someone else orders delivered. WTF?!?!?!? I call back and some lady said, oh sorry, how about next time?..I told her, there won't be a NEXT time...I suggest if you going to order to go or have it deliver, please triple check your order or have someone that can speak Thai do the ordering..LMAO...I don't think they understand English...

First of all, I've never been to the resturaunt. Yep, that's a fact. I have never even seen the place. However, I have ordered delivery service from them every thursday for the past 20 or so weeks. I think that entitles me to a well educated opinion on their operation. It all started during the training week at my job, just after I moved here. Jeff [now known as 'my good friend jeff' ] was training me that day, and had ordered some yellow curry with tofu from TKD. Now, I'm a packed lunch dude. I eat simple stuff for lunch - Tuna, cheese, fruit, crackers, repeat. But the smell of the curry on Jeff's desk that day made my lunch seem about as appealing as wet cardboard. And at that moment - Thai Thursday was born. Every consecutive week from then on, a group of my colleagues and I have ordered from Thai Klang Dong [okay give or take a week here and there] and more than half of us get the yellow curry EVERY TIME. I personally enjoy it with tofu, but a lot of the other guys get chicken too. The woman who takes my order over the phone is awesome. Always detailed, super good listener, and seems to really enjoy her work. The delivery service is fast, and the dude who delivers is usually friendly. I'm always impressed when I find a good food spot with good people. When those two things combine - You know it's definitely not your average spot. I've had their pad thai, and it's acceptable. Nothing really to celebrate. But I'm serious about their curries. Simple instructions: 1. Open curry container. 2. Dump one small container of white rice into curry. 3. Stir and devour. Seriously good! Dial them up right now - Here is a link to their menu : Thaiklangdong.com

Looking at the other reviews this place seems like a bad choice for other food items but as for their yellow curry (the only thing i have tried so far) it made quite the impression on me. I've been here twice and both times the curry was very good. It had a not to spicy taste to it and at the same time it was sweet. Would come back not for the people or the atmosphere but definitely for the yellow curry As for the service... My friend introduced me to this place. The first time i went with her and her mother, the sister (family owned business) was very happy and upbeat around her but as soon as she left and it was just me and my friend she wasnt as upbeat as before (perhaps it could be because my friend thinks her brother, another waiter there, is cute) but her attitude changed. Keeping in mind that my friend has said nothing to this woman at all. Having seen her reaction and the way my friend talks about her attitude. We went a second time and sure enough she was just as rude as when it was just the two of us. I didnt feel a good vibe in the restaurant after that.

This place was so disappointing. I'm always a fan of mu-shu pork, but theirs was flavourless and even the plum sauce was weak and watery. (Gross!) I don't know how you screw up chicken and broccoli, but it tasted bland and soapy and the broccoli was definitely suspect. The orange chicken was coated in honey and mostly just fried crap- it's doubtful if there was any chicken inside the batter at all. I thought I was getting a good deal. I would've been better off at Panda Express.

Pretty good food for a realllllly great price! They have lunch specials for $4.99, which includes appetizer of the day, and salad. . I am not afraid to admit I love inexpensive food. The Support department at my company have a "Thai Thursday" every week, where they order from Thai Klang Dong. Even though I'm not in the Support, I join in because I don't pass up a meal from Thai Klang Dong! Try to order their Thai dishes rather than their Chinese dishes. The Thai ones tastes better.

Really bad food. I'm not expecting what I've had in Thailand but honestly, this place is way watered down Thai-Chinese food. Due to the lack of decent Asian eateries around my area, I decided to give Thai Klang Dong a try. Okay, make that several trials. The Thai fried rice is okay. It's made with chicken breast meat and if you're lucky, sometimes flavorful depending on the chef. I finally decided to be tricky and actually told the owners that I had some Thai friends visiting. I practically begged them to make something decent. The owners promised to make my order 'Thai style'. Guess what? The tom yum goong (seafood) was still as bland as ever. It's a relatively easy dish to make but TKD's version is basically water with some pathetic ingredients floating around. Literally tasted like water and I tried ordering it three separate times till I gave up. Their curries are also extremely watered down. I wouldn't eat there again given a choice!

I feel like this place has an identity crisis. It should've been obvious from their website when you get to see 2 menus: Thai and Chinese. It's apparent from the way they prepare some of the more basic Thai dishes that no one can mess up. I ordered the Beef Pad See Ew and it looked like a hybrid of chow mein with beef broccoli but cooked with flat noodles. Enough said.

Thai Klang Dong is to me the best cheap Thai place I could find around my school. Every Friday the CCHS Cheer sqaud goes to have team bonding and eat somethere local. One day we went into Thai Klang Dong and every since then we go there at least 2 times a month. Today I tried the pho. I've definitely had better, but since I'm a little sick this was perfect. The only issue I had was that the chicken pieces were a little grisly and weird looking, so I picked them out of my bowl. The pad thai is pretty good too.

I've been searching for a good Thai restaurant in the area. Not far from work, I tried this restaurant for the lunch specials, ordered take out I tried the Pad Thai and the chicken chow mein, two noodle staples in Asian restaurants. Both were below average. I'd rather do some frozen Asian food than go to this place...

  • Mai T.

I ordered this as take-out for my co-workers, trying to introduce them to Thai food, and I must say this made a horrible impression. I ordered pad thai, and can we say BLAND???? Like dry icky noodles, clumpy, and bland. No need to enumerate further. My pharmacy clerk had the chicken chow mein....with barely any chicken. There were a couple of shredded strips, that's it. She was nice to say that it was good (since I bought it), but I tried a bit, and it was awful. My other partner had the orange chicken from their lunch menu, and he said it didn't compare at all the Panda Expresses Orange Chicken. Well yeah of course this is a Thai place, so what are we doing ordering Chinese food? Well my thing is if you put any kind of food on the menu, even Chinese food, and you can't make it taste good, I bet nothing else would taste good either. So conclusion: I'm not ordering from here again. And whoever said this place has good Thai is sorely mistaken!!!!

  • Brett M.

I like TKD, but both its thai and chinese food just isnt that noteworthy. For the price, you can find better Thai food and better Chinese food in the area. But its worth a try if youve got a craving as you drive by. My roommate loves to get it for delivery, but you get FAR FAR less food doing delivery than you will in the restaurant, for the same price. Grrr. Me no likely. Brett smash. Anyway, not terrible food, but if you are lookin' for the real good stuff... keep the car in drive.

TKD is close to where I work, so I end up having lunch there a lot. I basically followed a Thai co-worker to this place and he eats there a couple times a week. It's definitely a Thai restaurant despite the fact tha they also have Chinese dishes. Following my rule of "go with the strength of the house" I have never ordered Chinese food here. All of the Thai dishes have been wonderful and pretty close to what I had in Bangkok, not that I'm an expert. Another reviewer was correct - they are light on heat, but they have no problem adding it. They also take other special requests, like a dish my coworker orders which is essentially the parts of spicy beef fried rice - beef and veggies, 2 eggs, and white rice - served separately on a plate. Not every waitress has gotten it right, but then, I don't speak Thai. Bottom line is that it's some of the best Thai I've had outside of Thai town.

I'm torn. I picked up some pan fried flat noodles with beef (can't remember the name) - and it was the saddest thing ever. I've never seen this dish botched at a Thai restaurant. The green curry was decent - nothing extraordinary. But then somehow I ended up there again with a co-worker and I left pretty happy. We got soup (the coconut based kind and a pho). Maybe it was the rain....or being extraodinarily hungry...but now I'm open to going there again. Bottom line: it's ok. There's not a whole lot in the area, so it's doable.

Many of us at the office order from here at least twice a week. I think the Thai cooking is delicious, but not outstanding. I've had some great Thai curry at full-on restaurants, and the curry here is watery by comparison. They also really skimp on meat, but the prices match I have to say ($5 for a full lunch is not bad at all). It's good - not outstanding, but definitely a worthwhile lunch value.

This is one of the few Thai restaurants in the neighborhood. We decided to check it out during one of the week nights. Thai Klang Dong serves Thai and Chinese dishes. The Thai curry dishes are decent. General Tsao's chicken is quite good actually. Plus they give plenty of rice. If you have visited this part of Culver City, you will notice there aren't many Asian restaurants around (Panda Express not included). If you yearn for that curry gravy on white jasmine rice, this is the place. It's not too far from where we live, so it's a good to have it here.

i had a lunch special for $5 here. it was an a-okay kind of lunch, but i am here to give 4 stars for the spicy deep fried telapia. it was crunchy, it had a sweet & a little spicy flavored glaze, came with grilled bell peppers & crispy basil leaves, and it was delicious!! we ate the whole thing!

If you have been to thai BBQ(which i just wrote on them), then i will say this one is the most authentic and tasty around this area. The decoration is very THAI, you will know what i mean if you go there. A lot of funky pattern hanging on the wall. Candles are their mind lighting source, but i think it was kinda nice. The location is pretty hidden, and there are no other restaurant around but liquour store and McDonald. HOW CAN THEY SURVIVE? Here is the tip. Their food are very authentic and tasty. I must recommend the Yellow curry and pad thai. The yellow curry is a little sweet , but it taste just right. The pad thai is really pad thai which is suppose to be a bit sweet but not too much. This is a good take-out place too cuz it's not too crowd. COME AND GO! it's that easy!

I like Thai Klang Dong. I really do. But it's totally middle of the road. There's nothing remarkable about the food, or the restaurant's decor. But it is good, it is comfortable. The waiters are cool. Once every couple of months is a good rotation for this spot if you work in Culver City and go out to lunch all the time.

This little hole in the wall place is a great place for a quick, cheap lunch. It's located in an unassuming strip mall on Sepulveda with a pretty good size parking lot, at least during a weekday. I went there for a weekday lunch with some colleagues and had the spicy beef noodle special. It was pretty good! All their specials come with white or fried rice, salad with Asian-esque dressing, and their appetizer of the day. My special was nice and spicy (just right) and the waitress was sweet enough to substitute extra salad for the rice (had a presentation right after lunch and didn't want to risk a carbo-hangover). The appetizer was something from the firecracker-egg roll species - tasty and not too greasy. I had a soda with my meal but one of my fellow diners had a Thai iced tea which was really nice. Service was quick and welcoming. After lunch, they brought us fortune cookies with the bill. I think my whole lunch, including tax & tip, was about $10, quite a steal. PROS: - Cheap, quick lunch on the go but not in a fast-food type of way - Nice, efficient service - Good lunch specials - Fortune cookies! - Comfortable and clean CONS: - not a chic place - best to go for lunch TIP: Ask for extra salad if you are watching carbs or just don't want more starches on top of your noodle dish.

Hands down, the best Thai restaurant on the Westside if you care about food, service and price. The shop is located in a nondescript mini-mall along an unremarkable stretch of Sepulveda, but the the interior is pleasant and ethnic. (If you want ambience and high prices, go to gentrified downtown Culver City.) I've been to TKD at least 30 times and every dish has been consistently very good. My favorites are Tom Yum Koong (hot & sour soup with lemon grass, straw mushroom); squid salad with onions, chili ginger, mint leaves, with spicy lemon juice; garlic scallop; and steamed fish.

When I am just feeling lazy, and not up for being family chef for the night, I order this up for my husband and I. Its a perfect medium for us..I LOVE thai food, he hates it, but is Chinese and will take what he can get. Some panang and Pad See Ew with steamed tofu for me, some chow mein and beef and broccoli for him. Pair it up with a bottle of Yellowtail, and its a quick, easy, CHEAP night in. Panang is delish, delivery is FAST, and I get to plant it on the couch with a few glasses of 5.99 vino and a TiVo full of Rachel Zoe project. Bananas..I die.

i think i have a pretty good idea what bbq thai chicken supposed to taste like. not at this place. taste like boiled chicken with some bbq grill lines for visual purposes. definitely gotta consistently dip in the sweet thai sauce. two stars for quick service and decent lunch prices.

4 stars because it's good for what it is: good, no-nonsense Thai food on the cheap, and they deliver. Curries are the way to go, my favorites are Ma Sa Mun and the Kang Ka-Li (yellow curry). Don't know much about the Chinese side of the menu, but the orange chicken can be good. Make sure you tell them to make it spicy (whatever it is), they're a little weak on the heat by default.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
